A structured lesson workspace with readable content, hands-on examples, and a clean path to completion.
Automation is 10% of the exam and, for most candidates, the newest material. It tests concepts more than configuration. You won't configure a DNA Center or write Python on the exam — you'll be asked about REST APIs, HTTP methods, JSON syntax, and the SDN architecture. If you understand those concepts clearly, the domain is straightforward.
# Given this JSON, what does 'device' contain?{"device": {"hostname": "sw1","interfaces": ["Gi0/1", "Gi0/2", "Gi0/3"],"uptime": 86400}}# Answer: 'device' is an object with three keys:# hostname = 'sw1' (string)# interfaces = ['Gi0/1', 'Gi0/2', 'Gi0/3'] (array of strings)# uptime = 86400 (integer)
Automation is the newest exam domain and it's testing concepts, not configurations. Focus on understanding the models (SDN planes, controller architecture) and the data formats (JSON, HTTP). You don't need to write code. You need to read a JSON snippet and know what it means, or read an HTTP request and know what it does. That's the level of the exam.
Finish the lesson once you have worked through the material. This awards ★ 45 XP.
